First I bandsawed a round circle out of some alum plate, Then chucked it up in a lathe and counter bored a step for og nut for stock breather. Then machined a small step in stock nut to locate 356 tube on stock flange.

After everything fit I bolted all together and scribed outside of 356 flange on alum adapter plate and bandsawed to scribed line and grind and filed to proper shape.

Hey Danny, I like your flange idea... Did you taper some angle in the flange to allow the filler to sit more upright(otherwise it leans over to the right quite a bit). You could also just cut the snout on the stand and weld on the flange.

The method Danny used is just how I am doing my mounting for the oil filler I have....Too bad mine isn't a 356 oil filler! Sad The "bandsaw, grind, file, and polish" method isn't very productive or as neat as the Milling/lathe machining processes, but I sure appreciate the end result more after putting in all the hard work! BTW, you do some really trick stuff Danny!

Hey Gavin,
I think your breather was the most talked about item on your car at the Classic last year, Love that engine bay!

Do you know who sells the braided fuel lines on this motor with the banjo fittings for the IDAs?

Rick, I got mine at G&J Aircraft/Competition in Ontario. 909-986-6534. Depending on how long you're in town for Bug-In, you could swing by.
