Ivan, I only meant the driver's door could be from IPII, not the entire car....

Wow, Russell you are hardcore.  Very admirable what you are doing.  History is very important and must be preserved, great to see you have stepped up to this challenge.   Many, many people will be so appreciative of what you have done when the car is restored to it's former glory.

Don't worry Dean, I knew what you were getting at - I was being ironic, hence the laughing face at the end of the post.
As the floorpan is not the one from Tar Babe and from the sound of things most other parts have been changed or are missing - I was humorously viewing it as an ironic last straw situation; "Oh great, the door isn't even from tar Babe, it's off the bloody Inch Pincher"
In reality  I'm sure he'd be happy if the door came off Inch Pincher -  I know I would be.

Following this with great interest.

Well done indeed on the progress so far, to all involved. Especially getting it to Europe and back on the path to resurection. After seeing Kobus' blog a little while back I had wondered what he might be doing up in Scotland! Cheesy

Good luck everyone.

Also curious to hear Ole's comment, as for a few years now he had been trying to work on the mexicans with a view to getting the car.

What comment are you talking about  Huh

To put things right: I know Mario Gamboa, I got in contact with him when I was researching the Pink Panther's history. He was very helpful and gave me a lot of old pictures and information. But I never tried to acquire Tar Babe.

I know there's been some trouble regarding the deal, I'm not part of this in any way. So let's stick to the facts.

Personally I think there's no one better than Russell to keep the Tar Babe's Keys. He has the know how, the contacts and the funds to bring the car back to it's glory.

Can't wait to see the Babe with my own eyes...

Saludos,
Ole

Hi Ole,

I wasn't referring to any comment. I meant I was just waiting to hear your thoughts. I guessed you had no part in the deal. Though I was mistaken, as I thought that whilst trying to find out info about Pink Panther you also had an eye on buying the babe.

I agree....I think the car is in great hands.... and I look forward (patiently) to seeing the final results. It'll be great to see Pink Panther and Tar Babe line up side by side again.

Hi Russ. Hope all is well up there.

Hey Fonz,

I read your post again and you're right, I got you wrong Embarrassed Sorry 'bout that Wink  It's sometimes difficult for me to get the point in a foreign language...

Just wanted to avoid any speculation.

Russell, I'll be there! Cheesy

Ah, so you want us to wait in Tar Babe to give you chance to catch up and pull alongside? OK, that's fine by us! Grin Kiss

And thanks Russel to preserve these pieces of history. I wonder sometime if the enthusiasm for old VW aircooled will continue in the futur, but with guys like you, I think it will continue for long  Cheesy Cheesy
