Yeah that picture is hard core!

I wanted to add a short video of my second run ever! Not a very fast one, but I actually got the front wheels in the air.. (I don't care how small haha)
I am so hooked! no more fan belt driving for me!
Can't wait to do another 402 run, only got to do three this weekend but what GREAT fun!

Wow! I'm just about to touch ground again tonight! have been walking on clouds since Friday night, throwing this event is a labor of love, always has and always will! Don't know how many times I have started to write this post and given up... there is really no way to do the event and the people justice...

There are so many people to thank, but Berger and Johnny are the first to pop up in my mind, then there is all the volunteers that do all sort of tedious but necessary jobs...and the Sponsors!! Thanks for trusting us with your cash!

I am so glad that so many took the chance to head up here for a few days of fun, and reading the forums people got what they wanted... enough racing to make them puke! And a dose of that X-factor, the SCC spirit... the camaraderie and complete strangers helping each others out is what REALLY make this event stand out...  its said a million times before; its all about the people! Seeing Lids and Kobus working their ass off in the sunshine out on the track just blew me away...! I wonder if the articles about will let the spirit shine thru?

A few thanks from me... in no particular order!
Thanks for taking a chance on SCC for the debut of the Ghia, Peter, and for bringing over Ron Lummus!
A big thanks to all the Turbo boys from Vesterås, with a few PB's i hope it was worth the trip
Thanks to the Belgians for coming to show us the finish and the awesome performance your cars have, sorry for pestering you with FIA rules Embarrassed
Richie, thanks for coming back and for bringing Dave R with son!
Thanks to the Fins and especially Jussi for bringing the plasma looker.... what a machine!!
Thanks Russel Richie for bringing over Der express and the underdog, hope you had a good time, we had watching you!
Thanks to the Danes for coming in force and tearing up the track!
Thanks to the DFL for joining us for our best event ever... hope you had a good time boys!
Thanks for coming down Håkan Lundgren, you won the crowds over with your beautiful Texas brown oval, welcome back...!
Thanks to ALL the swedes for invading us and reminding us how BUG RUN was back in the day
A big thanks to ALL Norwegians who drove over the mountains to join us for the best VW event ever on Norwegian soil!
Thanks to Mango Kid and the band for an unforgettable concert!
Thanks to Kalle and Mags for running a tight shift with the racing!
Thanks to DKL for beeing such good guys and baby sitting the whole weekend
Thanks to Frank Hoffman for doing a great job getting the broken cars of the rubber... A BIG BIG thanks!!

Well, I have probably forgotten about a bunch of people, for that I apologize

See you in the pines next year!!

A half drunk swede came up to me saturday afternoon to give me a hug.
I said what the f..k are you doing, and pushed him away.

Then he reminded me of the hugging order, and we got close and comfy  Cool

You are definiftly getting there. Wheelie and all. You do not need those hired in drivers that break gearboxes and ruin cars. Now you can do it your self. All the best to you and thanks for being at SCC.

Well well well....................................... what to say after a event like this.. My head has been overloaded with impressions and I find it hard to describe with words how I feel.

As I write this it is exactly one year since SCC 2007 and also one year since it was decided that SCC once again should be a VW only event and not a joint venture with the Norwegian motor magazine Right On. We had a meeting shortly after SCC 2007 and late 2007 NDRG (the owners of GIR) confirmed that we could rent the strip. From that day the chase for sponsors started and lots of hours and work went into finance SCC 2008. Without our sponsors there would never been a SCC 2008 and that is why I first would like to say my thanks to;

- Autoglym
- CSP
- RL Roar Lunde Racing
- Nextbase
- Unneberg Bil
- HotShop
- Gasser Garage
- DKL
- JetCarrier
- vdub2you.com
- cip1.com
- vwheritage
- veteran vw klubben
- Berger Services
- VW Norge
- Rivstart
- Brikken
- youcan2.com
- Berema
- Ultra VW
- Smart Club
- VolksWorld
- Hoppeslott
- vwveteran deler

Thanks also to NDRG for the great strip, the excellent support and last but not least - a track crew that is world class!

We now had a strip and a show area to fill up and this is where all of YOU come in the picture. I could mention lots of names but for me it is more important that you actually made it to SCC 2008 and by doing so helped us create history and a great event - THANK YOU I hope to see you all again at SCC 2009!

Unfortunately I did not have time to take pictures during the event but I did spend some relaxing days with some friends afterwards;

Best rgs
