I got some in car footage from the RWYB at Shakey this past weekend.

I'm still getting used to the 2 step so the launches are a little sketchy.   Wink

The run against the skyline was a 13.5 (he ran a low 11) and the run against the escort was a 13.1

Thanks Lee.   Smiley

It was set at 5000rpm, but, the car was bogging off the line so I need to up it.  I was thinking of raising it to 6000rpm.  What do you launch at?

It was the 1st time i've used it, but, i'm convinced when I get the revs right & the technique down then it'll improve the 60ft times.  I know my car is heavy, but, i'd expect 60ft times in the 1.6 / 1.7 region, at the minute there approx. 1.95 - 2 secs.

Interesting, I launch around 5k with slicks and my car doesn't bog.but with out a two step the rpm varies as I can't drive as well as others Grin

My best 60 foot has been 1.505 iirc.
Strip that interior out Tongue

Nice stretch Smiley  I was going to make a funny comment about "ladies that launch" but wont Grin

what rpm do shift at? try about 800-1000 rpm less than that for the 2 step, ideally it wants to be so the rpm doesn't drop below peak torque as you let he clutch out

cheers Richie

I've been adjusting the shift light between 6500 - 6800rpm.  Quickest time so far is with it set at 6500.

So you reckon launch rpm should be between 5500 - 5700.  I'll definitely try that next time i'm at the track, thanks,

Lee, no way.  Wayne worked double hard to build me a cage around a full interior.  Besides, it's a street car.   Wink

Oh, and as for "Ladies that launch", it's cool, I fitted right in.   Tongue Shocked Grin

Hi Stretch,

nice vids - although a pure strip only car, Jonny is launching on the 2-step at 6700 and shifting c.7000...

Definitely the way forward for consistancy in the 60ft Cheesy

Are you using slicks or treads?

Whirligig it was Jo Joyner that was running the green goblin.  Nice to chat to you, good luck sorting the parts for the big motor rebuild.

Jamie, thanks for the info re: Jonny's car.  Mine is running DOT's.
