I ask some friends if there isn't somebody who has a type 3 engine in spare. I called VDB, the guy with the white 62 notch, but no one. I will ask to Pascal Close from Bomal.
Maybe could you ask Steve to give you an engine for Ebi.

steve is trying to help me out and  i need to call a couple off guys that might have something. just by writing it (and being mad about it for 24 hours) it allready feels better. but i hate the thought of a stock engine in a callook (done it with bugtour), but i'll manage thanks for asking around allready, i haven't called anyone, i just went jogging. see the weightsavingtread  , i am going to have to lose a lot off weight to make a stock 1500 or 1600 competitive

Hey dude Just read about your troubles - sorry to hear you won't be racing but as long as your there dude  , even with a borrowed stock engine, I thought my manx wouldn't be gettin there last week but its all ok now - I did 160miles yesterday and its all GOOD

good to hear that! and i will figure something out been looking around and something has to pop up. AND i have thought about turning my car upside down like you did to fix it but to no avail...

I have the original 6 volt (i think) 1500 type 3 engine out of my gasser garage 63 squareback lying at the back of my workshop ?

Would be no problem to throw on my truck and take it over to EBI, we arrive on wednesday, you could collect and install beforehand or install at ebi ? if your interested PM me and ill offer you a cheap deal.......

i have been working on the dualport 1600 i have, but that will not work out. one stud at the bottom of the case (that fits the tranny) is broken off, the heads are jetblack and the valves are brownish with a lot of dirt on them... not good. and the seal behind the flywheel leaks so i have a lot of work on that one to get it ready.

i hate the tought but i guess the only way of going with the car is on a trailer...

waxed the car like hell today
cleaned up the dash a little bit and tonight I will get the last missing pieces of the dashboard
got rid of the stupid tach holder on the dash, (it was useless because the tach is under the dashboard)
mounted my "ears" which are nicely painted, very good result as I say it myself.
cleaned the engine a bit.
finished the carpets

to do:
mount the fuchs hubcaps on the backwheels
some little things...

hopefully the weather will be nice, but they say it will be a rainy friday...
