I believe it's illegal to add service charges to a credit card sale.  Why would it be any different w/ Paypal when you're required to back up the account with a credit card???  If you want to recover paypal fees, add it to your price......otherwise it makes you look shady.

No it's not illegal. Only when selling on ebay it's not allowed to add the fees to the total price.
If you don't want to pay the fees you can send cash or make a bank transfer, although a bank transfer would probably be more expensive from non-Euro countries.
If you think I'm shady check my feedback on thesamba.. But thanks for the tip.

I'm looking for a Simi Valley Volkswagen plate frame for my '70, and I didn't peruse the photos to see if you had one (momentary ADD on my part), but, as a legitimate question, why the steep prices for plate frames?  I see them going for a lot less at local swap meets.  Is the demand for these plate frames really that high?  I'm not bitching about prices just asking a legit question.

I didn't say you were shady......I don't know you.  I said it makes you look shady.  Take note for the folks that don't like seeing the paypal fees added for your own sake.  As a buyer, it's a turn off.  Paypal fees are part of the gig as a seller.  You gotta pay to play. If I see the same item listed from two sellers, and one is going to add fees, I'll go right around them every time.

Hey bro. Sorry, but I don't have a Simi Valley frame.. Sad
About the prices: I guess it always comes down to how bad a seller wants to sell, and how bad a seller wants to buy. I don't want to sell off my entire collection, but I don't mind letting some go to make some cash at this moment. On average I've paid far more for my frames than the price you see them for on the swapmeets, due to the shipping cost I have paid, the (heavy) import taxes that I am charged here and the number of broken frames I have recieved already. I'm not selling my frames with a loss, then I'd rather keep them, so that's why my prices are so steep.
Thanks for your interest anyway.
