Title: Magazine Ads From the Past Post by: Sarge on November 01, 2008, 00:49:18 am Looking through some stuff today, I happened on a CD I got from Keith a few years back. Some pretty cool old ads where scanned on there, so I went through and re-sized a few of them. Somebody speak up if we've done this before...
Title: Re: Magazine Ads From the Past Post by: 2manytoys on November 01, 2008, 02:17:48 am Thanks for sharing. I like the "Baja" Mag. It almost looks like the four lug Libre wheel American made, but that one is in Magnesium.
I think I will send Ron a request for the free price list,...maybe it will reflect the old prices too. The cryptic drawings on the Berg ad were done by yours truly ::) :o :-[

Greg Aronson's brother Jeff did some nice artwork back in the day. He's an Audi guy these days and stops by the dealership once in awhile. Title: Re: Magazine Ads From the Past Post by: rick m on November 03, 2008, 09:12:02 am Wow Sarge...these pix bring back some memories. That old PAUTER ad reminds me of my buddy Sandy Bradens motor. He bought one of their counter-weighted and ofset ground 73mm stroke cranks with 2" chevy journals. The motor ran 5.7 Chevy rods with 90mm pistons from ISS. No one back then told us a 5.7 rod would not work on the 73 stroke. It was one of the fastest reving motors I have seen to date...with the crazy NORRIS cam Sandy put in it. It ran 40 P11 solexs on it.
Your ad pictures was like a walk down memory lane from 70 and later for me. I have heard about them, but have never seen them, Would be good to check them out.
Title: Re: Magazine Ads From the Past Post by: javabug on November 03, 2008, 14:05:50 pm Posted this one a while ago. Steering wheel look familiar? ::)
Title: Re: Magazine Ads From the Past Post by: Sarge on November 03, 2008, 15:29:51 pm Only $39.95 for an imitation wood steering wheel.... such a deal! Before there were Kennedy clutches and Sway-A-Way axles, there was Crown Mfg. I ran a Crown 1700 pressure plate in my old '63... a real clutch tube ripper!
