Some more old pics, as we got the car from Lee Leighton (Pied Piper) and then some after we repainted it.

I believe there must have been two Pied Pipers, The one we turned into Sum Fun we bought from Lee Leighton but it came from up around Wyoming/Montana way. As far as I know it always looked like the first picture I posted, chopped with chrome still on it, i think it is a 61 or 62 body.We took off the Pied Piper name and had it re lettered SUM FUN. My Dad drove it that way for awhile, the car had been built with a springer/straight axle front end (the frame head had been removed). As the car got faster, 11 0's at around 118-120 the car wandered some so we messed with the front end it the end result was my Dad going allmost straight into the guard rail at OCIR (Bug In or Drag Day don't remember). The car had had fiberglass fenders but the rest was all steel. After the crash the front end was destroyed so we put another pan under it with a stock VW front end. We cut the pan head and added some caster to the front end. We also installed a one piece fiberglass front and on the car at that time. The front end we painted white and left the rest the same until we got everything worked out. When the car was running good and straight my Dad and Friend painted the car at a body shop in a shop right across from Dave Foltzs shop. After that we worked on the back end and the car would go 10:80's 126 weighing 1550 lbs with my Dad in it, not bad for back then.

That was fantastic and even 10.80s now would be good, way underrated I think
