What car was the chassis originally from?
Does it feel different to the bug?

A new unused lummus chassis, it's been sitting around for a bit.
It feels a lot different from the bug.

Rich

I think you did a fantastic job already, knowing 1st hand what it actually takes to go from a climbing frame to a full running driving car I would say you did really well 8)  the fact that you just got on with it and got it done in such short time makes it even better
Look forward to seeing it get a good work out with the turbo set up 8)

cheers Richie

So after cooking the aspirated motor on the last outing to shakey it was time for a rebuild. was really happy with an 11.9 @ 113mph with a very unhealthy motor.
That done i turned my attention to getting the turbo motor together and into the notch. After swapping the cam and re checking everything looks like i need some new pushrods.
The compression came out at 9.1 so that should be ok.
Have a small order delay on the wastegates so as soon as they turn up i can finish off the header and pipe up the exhaust.
The motor is in and i'm now plumbing up the dry sump system and turbo oil feed and pressure light etc.  The fuel pump and reg has been swapped out for a larger one and all that is left is to pipe up the holley carb.
once the wastegates turn up i can pipe up all the boost stuff.
I've also added some micro switches to the clutch pedal and first gear for the 2 step and clutch management.
Sorted out re routing the accelerator cable and fitted the new brackets i made then adjusted it all up and it works perfectly.

Little bit of an update.
I've decided to mock up an oil catch tray. It seems only right as we all hate sitting around while the rack gets cleaned.
It's a fair size but i'd prefer it to work.
Bit tricky to get it to cover the valve covers and clear the rear caliper and tyres.
I might just take a bit off the top edge yet.

Well done mate, good to see 8)  The NHRA requirement for size is to have a 2inch lip so if you can go with that then you are good for when these things are needed everywhere

cheers Richie

Cheers.
I must say i have followed your build on here and have tried to buy the mag with the feature in. Great car.
I did want a beige notch to match my bug but you beat me to it, and Richie beat me to matching cars so the original red it is.
Maybe we could race heads up some time. Although i will need to improve my times..

Rich.

Not a massive amount to report as i have been waiting on parts.
Got a bit done thought.
Modified the collector to allow me to fit the wastegates, then made both of the exhaust.

Moved and made a new oil filter mount  so it now sits inside the oil catch pan.

(http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e63/stussyrich/8962B458-CED3-45C0-91FF-13A2EE43FFB6_zpssjo1jwee.jpg) (http://s37.photobucket.com/user/stussyrich/media/8962B458-CED3-45C0-91FF-13A2EE43FFB6_zpssjo1jwee.jpg.html)

Have trimmed the exhaust pipes down a bit closer to the body now, i'll take a pic soon.

(http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e63/stussyrich/7327C900-FC95-4AE2-9569-47A817295EC4_zpsedo8wcdf.jpg) (http://s37.photobucket.com/user/stussyrich/media/7327C900-FC95-4AE2-9569-47A817295EC4_zpsedo8wcdf.jpg.html)

Spent some time re wiring parts of the car to make the mail control panel removable and also added some more switches and relays to the panel.
The 2 step, clutch management inc the new valve ( cheers richie ) are now sorted.

I know it looks untidy but it's all hidden under the panel and i can get to each wire individually to repair or swap out if i have any issues instead of digging through layers of bundled cables.

Little bit more done today.
Finished off the wiring connections so i can now remove the whole panel from the car with ease.

Looks like everything is ok now it's been run for a bit, so it's ready for the dyno next week.
A nice safe tune at 14 psi will do perfect for now.

Got a nice safe tune so it's time to go and have some fun.
Just need to make the chute mount.

Little update from today.
Got the chute mounted to the rear panel. Had to make a bracket so the chute points upwards and sits just at the end of the rear wing.
Cut the rear panel ready for the tether mount which i have started to make.
Also sorted mounting the air filter.

Last pieces of the puzzle done today.

Covered the accelerator cable with some heat proof tube.
Made the whole rear wing section removable in one piece and fitted the air filter.
Chute tether mount made and fitted.

The car is now race ready again.

Went to shakey today for a bit of testing.
First pass 11.3 @ 128mph
Then last pass of the day 11.1 @ 127mph with a 1.49 60ft.
plenty more to do with the setup but i'm happy with the mph.
