Took my car to Fontana today for Battle of the Imports.  Was able to improve my 1/4 mile time.  I did a 12.35 and 106.  I finally able to do a wheelie.  Saw Stephen out there and about 6 or 7 other VW's.  Red Baron took the Pro Import Final.

Heres a not so clear shot of my wheelie....

Very nicely sorted car. I Take it that you use 3 Gears on the 1/4, And 4th for cruising, How does that workout for you? Thinking of a simular solution for my next project.

Well it works pretty good for me, My engine makes a good amount of torque so it can pull the gears. I drop to about 4800 when I shift into 3rd and cross the stripe at about 6800 so 3rd is a bit tall but for what I use the car for I have to have the cruising gears. If I had more track suited ratios surely I'd be in the 11's but I'd lose the streetability which is what I'm more in need of. Sure some will argue no probs with short gears but I like to be able to drive on the freeway below 4000rpm. For me I'm happy with my track performance it's all up to personal preferance really.

Well I think it's getting close to all it's got and no I don't plan on any more changes. Of the cars last about 8, 1/4 mile passes in two different events it's done 106mph all but once when it went 105.

Next on the list is my wife continuing her Powder Puff racing next year.

For me I have run deep in the 12's and wheelied my street car I'm happy. I wont run it too much more myself I don't think.

nice work Mr Foster... 12.35 is hauling ass, especially for a driver like yours. That big motor is obviously very happy.
Anything done different to your tune to get the ET to dip and the nose to raise?

Congratulations buddy!   Cool

I like the set up and know what you mean about cruising gears. That's a great time any way you look at it.  Cool

Hey Jason, thats a great run, I like the work that Mike @ 407 did. Didn't realize how extensive he did the bar's under there. That thing must be soild. Good pic's. And that gearing below is the exact gearing I have. It does work, I like it also.
