Hi fellows,

I found this old Autohaus sticker, indicating Orange / Tustin avenue.
Anyone has info about it ? What year was it made ? It's the only one I see like this and it has not the classical Dave Deal touch.

Thanks in advance for your help Smiley

Here is a bit of history and I'm sure Dave will correct me if I'm wrong.  Dave Greiner came to work at Auto Haus shortly (very shortly) after I started.  Over time AH was offering franchises.  Ed Craig, Dave Greiner and myself purchased these.  There were more but as I recall we were the only AH employees to do so.

Eventually Ed and Dave left the parent company and struck out on their own.  Dave's first location was in Long Beach and then he relocated to the former Auto Haus of Orange, 1211 N. Tustin Ave.  By this time I had left the company so details are a bit foggy to me.  I'm thinking that the Rosevears were starting to downsize the operation.

Dave took over the Tustin Ave. location using the AH name.  When the Rosevears closed Emil and Dan Weldon (EMPI) acquired the AH name along with RaceTrim and forced anyone using the AH logo to stop.  At this time Dave remained at the Tustin Ave. location but changed the name to Proformance when he still owns and operates today.  He did move his business from the Tustin Ave. location some years ago.

Everytime I drive by there I always look at that location with fond memories.  It has been a few different things since Dave's departure.

John fun 40 years later to hear some of the AH shop stories...
Mike Dunphy was very helpful at the Orange AH and Mostly Metric later.
Mike and Dave G. at the Tustin AH set the Cal Look hook for me.
In 1974 the first VW hop up parts I bought were at that location.
A select a drop, a single QP and chrome wheels for my 1200cc High School VW.
A couple months later the 75 Feb Hot VWs issues were in the magazine rack.
VW horsepower was out of my budget back then,
when my retail job at Franks Hobby shop paid less than $2 and hour.
