I am thinking about putting 5.5-inch 912 steels on the back of my oval under stock arches, but I'm worried they will look too skinny (but I'm going for that skinny retro race look). I've got 4.5s to go on the front. Questions:

1 - Will it look too skinny at the back?

2 - If not what tyre combo should I go for all round

3 - Anyone got any pics of this size wheel combo?

Cheers

1. No.
2. 155/165 front and 185/195 rear (for the "skinny retro" look)
3. Not for the last 20 years, sorry!

Great idea on the steelies. I'm not restricted to going for the Cal-Look, so I'm using 5x112 late Golf wheels, 5" front and 6" rear on my project.
That might make me a bit biased towards stel though I guess!  Grin

I ran 4.5 and 5.5 chromes for years on my '67 ... that was the look before all the repro wheels came along.
Now THAT is Old School ....  Cool

Ran 155s and 175s, then changed to 145s and 185s when the power went up ... 145s weren't good for the autocrosses LOL

Anything is going to look thinner than what you've got now. Skinny, retro-race look for those wheels would be 145's and 165-185's.
