After we kept the secret since october last year we presented my wife Karin's new race car last weekend on the Maikäfertreffen. Some of you know that nice car from angie Vanderhorst , Riverside California. She raced it in super Street and was very sad when she sold it.For us it is one of the nicest cars that was ever build and it is for sure a ladies car :-) . We not only bought a car but also got a very nice family as friends for life ..
I first put in the engine of our black 67 so that Karin can do some testing this year .
Last week we did first testing on a local airfield

The funny car cage and raised rear end was made by Ron Lummus , all is done perfect, this is why the car goes straight :-)
Only the aluminium work and shifter was done by JCL , because of this we have to do some final work on it .

Bruce & Angie actually bought the car from Torey Braun.
The car was a street driven turbo car for many years.
I'll try to find and scan some pics of it as it looked before.

The car was in Super VW Mag too, spring or summer 2002 issue I can't remember the number.

Edit : it was #156 August 2002.

It has a bus gearbox with folts axels done by Rancho. sorry it is not easy to take picture of the rear because it is all covered . The rear was raised by Ron Lummus.
That car goes straight and save like an arrow :-)

Why the Honda-style mufflers?  Is it a track requirement?

Yes , we must have mufflers on that track . and a stinger does not make more power on that engine wich is more like a street engine . We will be at Bitburg on 3-4 June to do some more test and tune , may be a little faster :-)

Ah, gotcha!  No disrepect intended on the 'honda-style' comment, it was purely for descriptive purposes only...Grin
