type 4 mains flange crank set , standard case and 0.25 mains, this is an older bearing set, new in package from 1999 when quality type 4 bearings were available

No, that was just one that came up with a google search of the 021 198 493A part number.
Bummer if they are all aluminium.

For VW case-type flange bearings
I normally use 3 sets of split centres (bmw, type 4, or type 1 depending on crank)
and a To#Īta thrust washer set at the FW end.

I have not had to deal with a 0.5 tunnel yet.

Thanks, we use the silverline all the time but I just wondered if the mahles where an option, will stick to what works for now then Wink
