Ahhh...... I`m in love!

As always when I`m love I`m a little blind.... had a new look today and I`m still in love but this time I noticed the modern looking rear tires. If you had changed them to a more old-school looking tire your car would be dam close to perfect.

Zach,
Your car looks GREAT!~

Sarge, I like the T-Bars buddy  Smiley

Thanks Dave...wasn't sure about adding them at first.  An inexpensive way to change the look of a car and well worth trying...

we made a bracket from an old 67 catch by weling a tab to the bottom of the catch for the rubber stopper to sit on and then bolted it to the valance through the original bracket using locking nuts

if you use two 1 1/2 inch pieces of tubing and longer 6mm bolts between the latch and the apron it will hold the deck lid open at the bottom and it will latch like stock and you can even lock the lid

That's just about what I did. My good friend stealth67vw (Johnny Bates) made me some T6 tubes to space the apron-catch out off, about 65mm or so.
I think I used T-4 oil cooler studs to mount them. Can't remember....it was over 10 years ago now.

I just made some more for my car from polished aluminum hex. I'll try and gets some pics up.

That is slick Dave. I want one like that.

Bryan, doesn't the decklid rattle when you just use long bolts?
If I remember, the decklid latch is designed to have the hook "loaded" against the rubber bumper so that it's solid and rattle free.

This is my 66.  I did all the work on this thing myself and I shot the paint with the supervision of a great friend that has been in the autobody trade since I was 2 years old.

perfect weather today. I drove around for three hours, just enjoying myself (like back in the days, when gas was affordable...). One minute after this photo was taken, some security guy told me to piss off. ass***e. :-)
