Title: What head and crank trigger sensors are you using with DTA Ecu
Post by: Rocket Ron on August 30, 2017, 06:36:30 am
Hi guys

Was wondering who's crank and head temp sensors you are using with your DTA ECU. Looking for recommendations for something that will work and is reasonably priced.

Thank you in advance for your recommendations

Regards Ron

VW Speed shop crank trigger and a generic 6mm bolt style temp probe fitted to the #3 cylinder tin bolt. Works good

Hope you don't mind jumping in here Ron but it's crank trigger related,

Just trying to understand the ignition side of things a little better and I'm going either DTA or OMEX and presently havens ignition set up consisting of  MSD 6al box with boost retard box and dizzy that came off my old motor which only ran fuel on the ecu and not spark.

Am I right in thinking I need to replace all of the MSD stuff with a crank trigger/coil pack and cam sync system so the DTA/OMEX can control spark too?

Something like these together ?

Or is there generic stuff I can get that'll do the same thing?

Richie is this anything you sell ?

Thanks simon.

Simon,

Yes none of that msd stuff will be needed now, I don't use cam synch on either of my dta set ups [E48 & S40], if you do wasted spark & batch fire on injectors its not needed

It can be set to work with just about any trigger arrangement. DTA is quite flexible and easy to work with once you get into it. Several guys here have shown great result with DTA.

That's what I have on white 67, his hidden trigger/sensor and 36-1 wheel fixed to a Scat pulley
