One car I have not seen here yet is the very nice 66' red VW "Pep" had at the VW Classic, in the DKP line up, has been out of the VW scene for awhile, but to come back with this beautiful 66'. Here are a few pics. Enjoy!

X2, have known Pep and his family for 30+ years, a very cool guy with a high level of building cars. This car is another one under his belt. They only get better.

Thats cool,I wondered if he had got out the scene after selling his oval, those Medranos sure know how to use a paint gun, beautifull looking car, nice wheel choice as well, but maybe I am biased on that Cheesy

thought i would drop a few tidbits on peps car since he wanted to keep it under wraps till it debuted.
the car was pep's brothers then passed onto pep
deconstructed by pep, cesar pasillias, ben salazar, and damon leiataua
the car was painted by another party in orange county the medranos are no longer running a shop.
after paint the car was garaged at cesar's house where on one weekend where we all pitched in and
it was one of my best weekends i had in years ( ben, myself, pep, cesar, damon)
peps brother built the motor ( youll have to ask pep for specs medrano secrets ! )
and again pep cesar and ben took care of putting the power plant in and getting it running
the interior was done by frank at sewfine who also did helped ben with his interior !
on a personal note i wasnt able to debut my car alongside pep which was our original plan but i was there to support
my brothers it was a big part of a great weekend ( saw the kings win the cup monday night !)
the car looks beautiful and i for one am glad pep is back on the scene !

A couple of questions but first I've got to say I REALLY like this car.

SORRY, HAPPY FINGERS.....

1.  Why do you see so few of these wheels, cost, rarity or they just are not a favorite?

2.   Sewfine is listed for the interior.  Is this the outfit out of Texas and if so was this a kit?  Anyone else have experience with Sewfine??

Great to see Pep behind the wheel again.  I was talking with him and Damon at the Jambo last August and he dropped a few hints that he might be building another car.  The car has a lot of detail and everything is finished to the Amigo high standard.
Job well done!

I might have seen the black oval re-listed on Samba a while ago, in Hawaii? That car was great (black oval), it really looked like a hot rod.

Yup it's Ruby red, at least that the color code for '66 that was used. But I agree it's a bit darker  and similar to garnet red.

Was talking with Jose today, he's kinda overwelled. The car came out nicer than anticipated, he wanted to build just a nice driver.
Then..well you see how the story ends.  He's did an awesome job.
Also his brother was responsible for the running gear and tuning. The car runs really nice
