Ok guys,

season is more or less over. All the new cars debuted at one or the other show. I would like to know which european Cal Looker that debuted in 2007 is your car of the year? And I really would like stay in Europe. We can do another thread with a worldwide favorite Looker/Racecar or whatever.

Her comes my Cal Looker of the year: It's Fred Diplacidos gobibeige 63. That car rocks! I would have preferd it with a merged dual quiet exhaust instead of the turbo muffler but other then that it's spot on! Congrats to Fred for such a beautiful car!
Cheers,

Georg

That one or Tobi DFL's oval - I love both of those.  Smiley

Neil, but Tobis Oval is not a new car! Even if he did some nice visual updates (and a lot more under the body) like Lucas indicators and bubble rear lights from the US modell.

Oops, I mis-read that bit! Shocked Roll Eyes Cheesy Still stunning!

I like the WPK'67 too, but not exactly a cal looker, and Dangerine would be my favourite new race car. Grin

Vegard "Baboon" Langseths 1967 Cal-looker that debuted at SCC 2007. A perfect Cal-looker, that's my opinion!

Jøran, does it has a buggy bar? How cool is that! I was waiting for someone to do it! If the car gets one piece windows it'll be picture perfect!

The pics of Vegards car does not really justify how cool it really is. Awesome car!
Maybe orange lenses for the lucas? What do you think?

Georg!
Fred's Ragtop on American Racings would be my choice too. AWESOME car!
Richard's green Oval on alloys (see pics further up) and Rudy's red '67 are my two other favorites.

That green oval ragtop looks exactly like a car that was built in Arizona a few years ago. Is it the same car??

Of the cars pictured my vote goes to Baboons 67. They are all really nice, but Vegards car is the most true cal-looker in my eyes.
It hasn't got all the "must have" parts added, a hot color or the biggest engine in town. It's kept simple and clean with a few period correct touches and actually built on a tight budget. And those real 8-spokes really does it on a clean car.

There should be a rule saying that every time you add something you have to take something off the car.. Just look at that understated car in all its simplicity. It's the car as a whole that does it, not just the parts added. Well done!
(gotta agree about those one-piece windows though..)
