Post by: Bad bug on June 06, 2015, 14:40:45 pm
Good day All,

Has anyone ever used the CSP wasp header with a t1 engine running the sled tins. I guest i am asking if this header will accommodate all engine tin on the engine.

Good day All,

Has anyone ever used the CSP wasp header with a t1 engine running the sled tins. I guest i am asking if this header will accommodate all engine tin on the engine.

I installed the Wasp Stage 2 header on my Beetle this year, and all the tin fit EXCEPT the low part of the sled tins needed some trimming.  This is because the J-pipes are closer to the engine than OEM heater boxes (similar to most other aftermarket headers, although the Wasp required LESS trimming than my previous Bugpack and EMPI headers).

I only have these iPhone photos, but you'll be able to see that I needed to trim approximately 2 cm from the outside edge of the lower sled tins (or they could have been bent upwards and boxed in with industrial tin).  The curved part of the sleds required some trimming part way down the curve.
