I ended up with one of them too - NOS in the box. It was in about '91 and I think it was $50. The wheel was mine until a friend, Paul Turner, finally convinced me he should have it for his Zenith blue US '67 on EMPI Sprints (that he got from me too.) which was featured in VolksWorld in February 1999.
I was speaking to him a few weeks ago and he reminded me how cheaply he got the wheels and steering wheel from me. If he wasn't a friend, it would have ruined my day. Grin

Wow - lots of good stories and suggestions. Guess what? - I sold them.

Most valid arguments for keeping them were/are "personal" and since I yet had not fitted them to any car or gotten to love them more than my wife, I passed them on. (Sorry Ivan & Russell) So now - been there, done that.

One of my points in the first post was to illustrate my belief that the "price-leap" of real BRMs is done and finished. From 1500 to 6000 dollars over the last five years will never happen again. They will continue to climb - but never multiply by 4 again. And there will always be some for sale. So selling at market price today, and then possibly buying another set in the future will always be possible. My two cents.

So - now there is some cash to finish (bits of) the '51 Porsche, the '51 Panel, the '56 Ghia, the '49 Std, the 2170 ccm, the '56 Rometsch...and all the rest of them.
