Got a '66 steering column in my '56 and I thought I put the Horn / contact assembly back together correctly -- but there isn't very much play in the horn button assembly

and all the views I found just aren't that clear

Thanks

I've probably mis-discribed my problem -- it is in the area of steering wheel and how the horn ring attaches to it -- I went down to wolfberg west and bought one of those $5 horn contact kits (113998225) that have the 3 new screws and the springs and plastic washers and it just doesn't allow much movement of the horn ring

No it doesn't, I have been puzzling on the original ones for quite some time as well. But when you look at it, it doesn't need a lot of movement, it's either honk or not.

I can't remember exactly, but if I'm not mistaken, there are some plastic washers as well, to isolate the horn ring from the steering wheel. I'll check if I can dig the steering wheel out and if it is complete enough to take pictures of.
