 Hey guys and girls.....

I' scratching some parts together to build a 2017cc stroker engine. I managed to build some stock stroke engines.... but to build this stroker is a bigger chalange for me..... I got almost al parts together, but the more i read the more i lose my confidence in the parts i've bought... The idea of wrong purchases is killing me...

So, I've got two issues at the moment...

1: Í've purchased A cilinders and pistons... can i get away with the use of a 78.4 stroker crank?

2: I've got some Berg pushrods (GB 425- 11000 long) laying around... Do i need longer ones?

the answer to your 1st question would be yes (if you use 5.5 rods) if stock then you'll need to either flycut the heads or the barrels.

what cam are using? pushrods arent that expensive so if you have to replace them then do so.are the pushrods already cut to length?

Are you sure? Especially with a 5.5 rod he will need B pistons.

I'm using a Webcam W 218, possably with 1.25 rockers. Pushrods are not cut at length, are stock length (like original 1600).

Today i did fit one cylinder,  And i could get away with a 4.5 (and some more) shim, but 'if i was using "B"type cilinders and pistons i wouldn't need such a big shim....Huh?? Or am i wrong??

The rods are 5.4 CB performance H beams (that's also stock length)....Already thank you for the replies!!!! Regards Dennis....

hello dennis,

take B-pistons.
A-pistons will work, but you have to use spacers and maybe the engine tin won't fit anymore, maybe you have to clear A-pistons for the longer stroke. A-pistons are heavier.

I agree with dirk as using spacers to get the cr you want can be a pain in the butt.

The difference between A and B pistons is the height of the piston pen in the piston. In the B pistons the piston pen is higher in piston. A pistons are for stock stroke and B pistons for 78 and higher strokes

Are you sure? Especially with a 5.5 rod he will need B pistons.

sorry i meant that... you are right. that is what i would get anyway. 5.5's and B pistons.  Embarrassed

Its not a rule but you can use A type pistons for strokers up to 82mm.
The things is that the sideload is more severe on a type pistons especially with stocklenght rods but it can be done Cool
