Title: Real world experience with CB2289 cam?
Post by: Jim Ratto on March 02, 2010, 21:48:28 pm
I have a side project I will be working on, another 94 x 78 pump gas 9.7:1, ratio rocker deal... considering the 2289 for this guy. Those of you that have run this in your weekend bombers, give me your real world impressions. If you've run both, how does it stack up against 86C?
thanks for any feedback

Jim, I run that cam in my engine.  94 x 84.  I was a little wary at first that i would be too peaky for the road, but, it's great, starts to make power low down & will rev and rev, if you want to.

Thanks for feedback. My prospect pulled the plug on the deal. Says he can buy his own stuff and build it on his own, much cheaper. Too bad he has no idea WHAT I was going to set him up with, same motor as mine, but a little more "ragged edge." Oh well sans souci.

Maybe I'll stick the 2289 in my '67.

And he thinks he can build it better than you?  :-\  Jim would have made a great Werks engine builder at Porsche!  ;)

Naw, he just doesn't wanna pay my fee. No worries, I'd rather have the free time to screw off.  8)

thanks for the kind compliments, guys.... :)
