Hi Guy's, So here's the wheels, Mark aka Fred subscribing to the less is more theory (which I agree with as well) took a pair of first generation BRM's and lightly glass beaded the Bling-Bling off the lips and edges then with much effort and I believe Double 00 steel wool spent the last few days buffing the lips to a semi-gloss anodized look, Me thinks they look awesome!!! Job well done my friend Smiley

Thanks, y'all. I used #0000 steel wool after I blasted 'em with a super fine media in the machine at my shop. A cheap/easy method to achieving an anodized look.

I really like the finish, I am not a big fan of shinny things

Did you use some sort of Polish or just the steelwool?

Agreed on the shiny things. Hated 'em thirty three years ago and even more so now. No polish used... just the super fine grade (#0000) steel wool at this point. I may experiment with some Mother's Aluminum Polish. But we like the anodized look of 'em at this point.

VERY good looking bier, right there. Thank you for the tip, sir. I'll make a point of locating that. Thankfully, Bob lives a rock throw away from a privately owned adult beverage only store that puts most of the corporate ones to shame in regards to variety/selection.

Hopefully, the picture(s) posted on this thread from us will be the BRMs fitted on the pan. Now that I've finally located the lug bolts. HA! Removed those wheels from my '67 in July of '09 and couldn't remember where the bolts ended up. Hence the Chimay celebration.

Trust me, we've been called much worse.  But that tends to have a reverse effect and prompts to turn up the fun volume.

Some progress made! The front portion of the body finally got lightly sanded and polished.

I've liked this color since I first laid eyes on it... but the more I see it, the more it appeals to me.

Ted, 67heaven nailed it. A European only Type 3 color from '64, if I remember right. We'll get more pictures posted as it progresses. Sorry that it's been such a slow process. That little things called life and work get in the way.

Ooh, nice. I see trim clips, but I'm hoping for black trim - that would look incredible against that brown paint!

I agree, Neil... but I know Bob and he's gonna opt for stainless steel late model trim. Which, I've yet to see. I've only used/seen the factory anodized units.
