Title: Elf Ignition
Post by: pupjoint on February 10, 2016, 15:07:12 pm
stumbled across this website making aftermarket ignitions mainly for the Porsche market.

ignore the prices  ;D, i do see they have stuffs for the 356 4 cylinder, so i assume they can be used in our cars.

can anyone tell if they are just another type of transistor or CDI ignitions?

Interesting stuff.
Looks like it's similar to original Bosch CD or TCI setup, but with rev limiting ability. Too bad they didn't list spark output per cycle (at plug), at specified RPM. The box looks convincing, I'm sure better suited to a Porsche engine compartment instead of the Big Red Box.

JMHO   Changing my 1969  911E Targa to pointless distributor and MSD ignition was a wonderful upgrade, but I was after improved performance not aesthetics . The original ignition did have a built in non adjustable rev limiter , with MSD ( MSD 6AL ) I drove the car to 146 MPH . Mike McCarthy
