Title: JDM WAKO CDI system - anyone here using?
Post by: pupjoint on February 16, 2017, 14:51:41 pm

i was actually considering this before going with the Winterburn setup, gave up halfway as i couldn't get a "easy enough" platform to mail order and also limited explanation in English.

i wanted to keep the Bosch distributor look, keep the points, at the same time wanted something different other than the MSD box.

this is the link to their site

I have seen this a few times in Let's play VW and Street VW mags, another Jap expat who moved to my country and brought his bug with him also had this fitted.

trying to check if anyone happen to use them here and can give some feedback?

I looked but I haven't find any circuit diagrams published by them, clearly there's no reason why they should, but that means getting hold of one to do any useful analysis.

I managed to get Nengun to put them on their website, so mail ordering can be a lot easier. they seem to have better transalation in English than the makers too.

It says its patented, I wonder if they did a world wide filing in English, if they did it should be possible and perfectly legal to see what the circuit is like.

a friend who frequents Yahoo Japan auction for his Nissan found me a set

it is however incomplete and i still need this to convert my 010 to hall trigger(http://i1227.photobucket.com/albums/ee440/pupjoint4/Winterburn%20CDI/IMG_3757_zps1soefwxf.gif)(http://i1227.photobucket.com/albums/ee440/pupjoint4/Winterburn%20CDI/IMG_3758_zpsurj0irri.jpg)

One of the most important things in an ignition system
Is the amount of ignition energy that it produces
As an Msd (6al) consumes 1 amps at 1000 rpm 5000 rpm = 5 amp
There is no description how much it provides in JDM WAKO
/// Micke
