Hi guys,

I am working on an article about Bug Run 2006. We got the pics and the words from a freelancer, but I need some information for the captions. Does anyone of you can help me with this:

1.) Facts: Red ragtop beetle, must be a '60 or '61, swedish, Fuchs wheels, licence plate BLD 428
What I want to know: Owners full name, year of the car, maybe engine displacement

2.) Facts: Splitwindow beetle, purple with yellow engine and other yellow parts. Was very famous in the early 90s.
What I want to know: Owners full name, year of the car, maybe engine displacement

More questions tomorrow!  Grin
Cheers guys,

Georg

The other car was built by Ola Öst, don't know who owns it now.
Maybe the Swedes can help you?

I found a picture on the net from Bug-Run 2004, where the car got a price:

The man who owns the car now is a man called Tord Ekman....maybe some swedish guys here know him?
It says that the car is based on a 67, not sure about the engine size.
But i think the original engine that was in the car in the 90's ,is replaced.

Hey Georg,

I remind of a german mag called "Topspeed" featuring this car late 90s. It was based on a '59 and had a 3liter type4, if I recall correctly...

I might still have the mag...  Roll Eyes

I think you are right. It was featured in HotVWs here in the states, too.
