Hello all,

some days ago surfing on the web I get this really very nice pics from DAS blog :

It's a '64 precal and the owner is Ron Brankov, member of DKP I, and the pic was taken by Sarge at the end of sixties ...

... Is there anyone who can tell me where can I find more information about them, other pics and descriptions? someone can tell their story?

Ciao

The picture of the green car was taken by Ron Brankov in his backyard.  The car was a 1961 originally black and painted green at Bill's Auto Body in Fullerton.   the interior was left black.  He joined DKP I think in 1968. This is the car I went to my first Bug In.  Hope this helps.  I talked to Ron when he sent this picture and this is the only picture Ron has left of his car.  He sold the car and it went to Florida where is wrecked and totaled.  I think the new owner ran it into the swamp or everglades.  It was a very nice car.  I think the motor was a1600cc with a mild cam and dual carbs.  Maybe mild head work.    Dave Rhoads

OoPs Addon   The car looks like a 64 because Ron added the plate light tto the deck lid to look like a later model.  It's a 61 decklid..     Dave Rhoads

Hi Richie and Hi Dave

thanks for your help to find out info about Ron's precal.
I regret that such a beautiful beetle has only one pic  Sad

eh eh eh ... license plate light fooled me  ... I thought it was a genuine '64

Dave, asking too much if I ask you if you remember the plate number ?  Smiley

Cheers,
Drù
