Title: 1970 convertible body panel
Post by: MegaRookie on November 10, 2020, 22:06:19 pm
Hi guys,

For my 1970 convertible I am looking for a new body panel which can be welded between the front windscreen and the bonnet. I saw that CSP sells them for before 57 (cowl top panel?) , but I didn't find it for 70 yet.

Does anybody know who sells them? Or do I need to cut a piece from a donor car?

Thanks!

Mark

From the digging I've done looking at ours, it's close enough to a stock sedan piece. I know Karmann had the scuttle and outer screen frame made as one piece, but the dash is the same, so the scuttle should be too.

Thanks for your reply Neil, good to know that it is close to a sedan piece. That will help finding a good donor piece much easier. Though, I might already found a donor piece of a convertible including the windshield part and dash. We'll see, and otherwise I continue the search for a sedan part. :D

Kind regards Mark
