Title: 6"slicks what tubes
Post by: vintagewagenwerks on December 02, 2011, 22:00:32 pm
hello guys,i got some 6" slicks now we mounted them to the wheels (5,5"KPZ) without tubes inside ,so the air is not holding longer than 3 days inside ,so my question to you is what tubes do i have to use for them .Can i use normal 15" tubes for a standart bug wheel?

It is better without tubes, but if you want some you can use 15" tubes , this is what i did in the past . Like 155-175x15 for example

At best, natural rubber tubes.
John @ M&H sells them at a decent price.

Not sure about your area's track, but I've been told by tech guys at the track that the tubes must be reinforced at the valve stem like the old Firestone drag slicks with the brass screw on  nut that fits over the top of the stem.  Standard tubes will fail inspection.  They don't want the slicks spinning and tearing off the stem.  Don't know if they'd be OK with bead lock rims or not.   :-\
