Title: oil filter mount installation
Post by: nicolas on October 01, 2022, 09:09:20 am
I am looking at using a filter mount with a relief valve in it. CSP has it, Fast Fab has it, and scat has/used to have one. I found a scat one in my stash and now I want to use it.
but to just swap the 'regular' one for this one isn't as straight forward as first planned. so I will need new hoses (again) and a return line.
The question I have is, where do you mount it? how do you mount it? and can the filter be horizontal? that is actually 3 questions... pictures are appreciated preferably in stock cars, but anything is appreciated (that's 4.)

I mount them same place as usual, filter mount can be any angle you want but if its not vertical it makes a real mess when changing filter!!

Nicolas!
I have it mounted exactly as Richie describes it and it works perfect.

I will do that (I am the kind of guy that always stains the fresh new t-shirt right away) so upright it is.
I will be moving it away from under the left fender. I feel that with the top mounted entrance and exit the mount will be too low. and I figured out that it will be a lot better if I make a catch tray to have that filter IN it... do you use a bracket on the exhaust or where/how do you place it. I seem to have issues with clearance from the exhaust all the time. I will get around it. pun intended.  ;D

Out the top with mixture of 90 & 120degree AN-8 fittings works from what i remember with the Scat version
