Don't piss down my back and tell me it's raining.

Got an old Lang deep sump here. Its got a few scraped fins (one a little tweaked near the sending unit, see picture), and it will need heli-coils where the sump plate attaches. With that and a little paint and polish you will have one nice looking sump. Its got an old VDO sender on it, too. I already sandblasted it clean, so step one is complete Wink Asking $70 or best offer, free shipping to Europe Grin

FYI, Lang Sumps:
Look at Zach's 3rd pic.  See the 4 recesses in each corner?  Gary Lang designed those in to allow clearance for the 4 tabs on the engine case where the tin screws to.  The original design of this sump is to have less than 1/8" of clearance between the corners of the case and the sump.  That way if you hit the sump, it can only move a tiny amount before being solid to the case.  You won't break this sump.

Because the sump is so close to the case, it gives you 1" more ground clearance than a Berg sump of the same volume.  When I used a Lang sump, it never bottomed out.  My current Berg sump hits so bad all the time I have to throw away the sump plate every time I return from a long trip.  I can't for the life of me figure out why I put the Berg sump on.  One thing I know is that the next time I do some major work, the Berg sump is coming off in favour of an original Lang sump.  Another plus for the Lang is that it weighs 7 lbs less than a Berg sump.

As usual, you are right Roll Eyes The more I look at this sump, the more I see that it was built pretty smartly. It tucks right up close to the case! The Treuhaft sump on the Slingle Cab hit those tabs on the case, and it also sits crooked. The Lang sump also has the internal bracing like Berg has- I had a Race-Trim sump that was caved in (and cracked) because it had no bracing. Do you have another Lang sump? Ill keep my eye out for you if you need one.
