Title: MSD distributor and springs
Post by: vintagewagenwerks on October 01, 2011, 19:23:14 pm
hey guys ,my new msd is working fine but there are some springs and characteristics you can choose today i changed the heavy silver against light silver and a blue one,so the retart start at 1100 and stops at 3000 rpm .

I am searching for the best combination to rev up the engine to the max (over 6000) as fast a possible .

Can someone give me an advise what is better for this the retart very quick at the beginnig or more constant at growing rpm.

thanks for your replies in advance :)

When I got my MSD, I took it to Rodger Crawford, he sent it across the street from his shop where they re-curve distributors. What they did to mine was put in very lite springs THEY had and a little bit bigger advance stop under the plate. Advance came in VERY quick, worked very well. So with what you have, use the lightest springs with the biggest advance stop. Should work very well also.
