Doesn`t matter if only two cars is racing as long as there is a lot of cars and people coming! Knowing that your cars is among the most beatiful looking cars around I`m sure you guys will get a lot of attention  Cool

Elnef, I race cars - not bathtubs  Wink  I hope you get your box ready to SCC and I`m looking forward to see it pulling wheelies again! As you know we have a buggy with almost similar specs here in Norway - that would have been a race to watch for sure! I will try to get EBB over.

Yeah you right!! Not that fast... you have 11 seconds written all around you Petter!  Smiley This year you Swedes have taken a huge step toward the Finnish ET`s. - Will SCC this year be the battle of the low 11`s between Danes, Swedes and the Finns while we Norwegians watch and admire  Shocked ??

I'll promise only one thing, if the engine still work after Exporama Drag Challenge (3-6 August), I'll beat the hell out of it at SCC.

JHU: I'll give them run for the money Smiley

Ahhh... That`s the spirit!

Now what about the Finns? Arto, Jussi, Jyrki, Marko... will they come and take their piece of the cake with them? And what about Kotten and his army green racer, will he be ready?

Hi to all!
After my engine blow at Bug Run I have checked the damages and fortunately they are not that bad!
The crankcase has a big hole over connecting rod nr 4 where the piston left the building! Have to use another case obviously.
The heads are repairable and two valves have to be replaced. They are beeing fixed at the moment.
The crankshaft and 3 rods are reusable. I have fortunately been able to locate one replacement rod, 5.5 inches Porsche bearings, thanks to Jyrki!
New cylinders and pistons have to be dug out from the spare parts department.....

A second damage was also encountered: The fan exploded! I now realise why people make such a fuss about welding them....
9100 rpm on the tach was a little bit too much for the fan.

There is a lot of work ahead before the engine is up and running again and I have 4 weeks of vacation ahead and those are the only 4 weeks/year I do not work on my or other peoples VW:s.

It thus seems that unfortunately I will not be able to race at SCC this year.

So bevare and see you there in 2007!

Have a nice rest of the summer!

Hi Kotten and thank you for your excellent hospitality at Bug Run this year.

I`m glad to hear that the damages where not that bad and that your able to reuse some of the parts. Even though your not able to race at SCC 2006 it would be nice if you took the trip anyway so that we can return the hospitality.

Have a nice summer vacation!

It was a Cima/Mahle 94 mm. Just the usual big bore set-up.

The crank to rod ratio is not really optimal for those rpm:s. 86 stroke and 5.5 inch rod is pehaps not the best combination to rev that high.

I have to do something about the rev limiter!

I'm all warmed up after last weekend race at Vandel Motor Festival....!

And:
John Elnef
Rasmus Kirketerp
Thomas Kiel

Again they pushed them self, and got their personal best times...!

Sadly John need some hours in the garage before SCC, but hope the mood is high and I know him..! He would do all it takes the get ready  Wink

About SCC:

I have a question..!

How much does it cost for a kid in the entrance fee for this SCC weekend..?

Thanks

I guess it will cost the same for kids as for adults, 150 nok each day. They will be charging the entrance fee both saturday and sunday. Huh

For racers it will be an additional 250 nok to race. This is for insurance and so on..

I dropped someone of at the airport today, so on my way back home I decided to stop by and check on the track.
A bit rainy today, but I still got this good feeling inside when I walked up the quartermile.
The smell of track-bite was teasing my nose, and my shoes had a tendency to stick to the surface Smiley
The pit area and so on might not look the part, and yes it is in the middle of nowhere surrounded by forrest and all, but remember this is one of the fastest dragstrips in Europe.
If the weather plays along, SCC will be one hell of a weekend!!!
See you there folks!!

PS: I heard some of the british guys complain about the lack of a return lane at Bitburg, so just so you know there will be no waiting at the top end at GIR, lol

Sadly Jussi´s piston made it to the outside word on Sundays testings. 11,059 192.3km/h 1.49 60ft.
So no SCC for Jussi´s split.

Jukka made a new record with his panelvan:13.62 158km/h.

Wow and wow... 192,3 with a old split and 158 with a van...... man that impressive!

Very sad that Jussi will not be coming to SCC with his car but there is always a next year you know. Good thing that some Fins are coming over for a good time at least :-)

Thomas Kiel just booked his ticket for the ferry, and is now making the final adjustments!!

2.4L  T4  +   STD. gearbox  +  Sticky track  =   Boxes full of broken parts ??

I guess time will tell....

Yes that`s a good tip...and you can also buy plastic bags of ice in almost any grocery shop here - and those cubes works wonder in the GT afterwards as well.
