More long lost transparencies – these from 1990 when I went to stay with Dave & Judy Kawell.
As a treat, they dug Blackie out of semi-retirement and took her down to Memphis Raceway...

The car still exists and i have the specs somewhere.Have to dig it up.
Have a few pics of the car when i visited Dave years ago at his shop to plan an engine for my dragbeetle Cool

Car had a 84x94 engine with a drawr thru turbo engien with a best of 8.63 sec 1/4 mile time if not mistaken Cool

Later upgraded to 88x94 engine,will look up the specs

Btw does Dave Kawell own the fastest time on the 1/4 in a turbo car?
I know he didnt run whats now pro mod and i know Eric Callabrese ran in the 8's too but did Eric's time beat Dave's? Cool

 The car still is sitting in their shop,looks like its still ready to go back to the track. I sat in the car when I was there to dyno my engine,very cool ride. The Kawells are fantastic and very honest down to earth people. I even got to pet the racoons, I am proud to call them friends,               Mike McCarthy
