The carbs are mounted perpendicular to the engine... Ive never seen a V8 with IDAs mounted that way, and I always wondered why. It seems the linkage would be much simpler that way.

Has anyone got any idea why the IDA has "inch measurments" on bolt pattern?
Was the first car fitted with them the Cobra or GT40??
