Three cars in mind...
- '50s 356 with Type 1 engine, IDAs, etc.
- Danny Gabbard-style Notchback - See August '03 VWTrends
- '68 Sunroof Bug
Cheers Keith!

...voting for:

1. pre-looker-cause you should know how to do it with attitude Grin
2. 356 "looker": mixture between outlaw/cal look: with big type1 engine and some oldschool 5 lug mags-depends also on what´s left after building a house Roll Eyes

1963 Buick LaSabre Station wagen, 9 passenger, with 325 Wildcat engine, Dynoflo transmission, roof-mounted sky lights... what? Did I say something wrong? Hell, that's what I drove to school when my '67 was down for improvements. KS would be styling in that ride.

Others have been suggesting putting your car history in a blender and mixing them... How about mixing the three main topics of your books - into one car:

Cal Look Style + Big Engine + Coachbuilt Car

It surely must be what is closest to your heart, since you did all that research and all that writing... I say go for it!

I`m not sure who U are, or how you look.....but why just do the "CAR-THING"....don`t we amire the people as much as they cars...?
Why do another gasser-copy-spin-off-kind-a-car....why not do a makeover on the person.....just become a cal-look-a-like.....everybody can do a roof-chop.....it takes a man to have a nose-job.....

I picture you a tall, dark man....maybe you should go for a Darrel Vittone-look, lets say 1974....ish...
...or maybe a bucket of grease will make your hear look like the one that Lee Leighton had....if you are some kind of sqitzo.....maybe a look-a-like of the Schley Brothers could be something.

Ofcourse you should do it properly and also build a cal-look-a-like car too....

Or grow some decent beard and maybe a ponytail…and just look like the main man Keith Seume….he would probarbly come up with something that nobody had ever thought about….that`s car-wise…..

Good luck anyway……

Pre-Aronson-'63-Style car, with correct, period-tuned motor, 32NDIX, single port, 88mm big bores, Racer Brown cam, H-case, 010 dist, couple of chrome doo-dads, Anchor-style header, ET mags, Bluestreaks, period tach, stock height, full bumpers and trim.
Or maybe a '67 done a la Don Crane-style, stock exterior, stock height, genuine Berms, 88 x 74 motor with Type 311 heads, 48IDAs, Anchor-header, early Berg linkage, etc.....
You know the recipe, just a matter of finding the right ingredients to make it taste good.

There's enough 12-11 sec Cal Look cars.  Roll Eyes

I can't agree any more, Jim.  It can be done on a budget, too, save for maybe the wheels.  A drag class I would love to see and be a part of.

It's gonna be this car.

No paint, redo the pan.  Stock geared trans and discs all around.

Even though I was always brought up to believe Ghias were Beetles for girls (ONLY JOKING! Cheesy Cheesy), I have to admit that the number of great looking Ghias that I have seen can be counted on the fingers of one and a half hands. They are real difficult to get sitting right. Do you keep bumpers or delete them? Trim? Wheels? I lespecially oved the red and black one which Jim Kurlinski picked up about three years ago. Beautiful! Orange, sitting low and nose-down on Center Lines, plaid interior, IDA motor (naturally) and C/R trans, full set of black-faced VDO gauges, Momo Prototipo wheel.... Mmmm, sounds good already.

Hey Speedwell,
how about you building such a car once again? Wink as I´ve seen in another thread you obviously already have the right parts to start such a project! Grin
BTW: I´ve just gotten the February Volksworld (thanks to JG54´s Max Jamieson) and read the feature about your car. It´s really great, dude! I´ve seen your car at last year´s DDDay but obviously haven´t seen all  those fantstic details... Tongue
