Hello Loungers,

I'm more a reader then a poster, but I hope you guy's will help me Smiley

I'm building my first "big"engine, 2110cc (94 x 76 wbx crank) with 44webers, webcam 86c, steve vw heads (42x37) and a comp. 10.5:1.

My question is, I'm installing a extra oil-sump do you guy's use the oil strainer or do you leave them out?

I have a full flow system, original cooler is closed, i'm working with thermostaat, fram hp1 and a mesa cooler with electric van.

Thanks in advance, mycha Jesaijes

I always use the strainer but make sure you cut the pick up tube at a 45 degree angle with the open side facing the pulley the angle helps keep anything that may be floating in there (God Forbid) from cutting off the oil supply and the strainer keeps any little crap from going threw its just cheap insurance  I know alot of guys dont Use the Strainers but the oil goes therw the oil strainer and pick up before it ever hits the filter...
