I remember the first weigh-in I ever did it was 740kg.  Which means it took me over 10 years work to lose the 141kgs -with the power I had 600kg was the ultimate target.  Funnily enough as soon as I went lower the car ran into the 10's.  Admittedly a few other mods helped too!

Rich I bet those wheels and tyres together with the 915 add about 150lbs to a normal bug,is it a steel or moly cage, its funny that the cars with the type 4[you & Patte] in are the heavyweights, must be something there Cheesy

cheers richie

Yep the repro gas burners are pretty damn heavy- working on getting the original Fuchs back on to save weight. The cage is all steel and mig welded so the welds must be adding up LOL

Nothing wrong with the type 4 i think its all the oil in it thats the problem  Grin

Phil- that weight is insane. Good work! Do you have to peg it down in a light breeze?  Cheesy

730kg turbo car Wink

With you in it?  i wish mine was that light, they are 878kg and 879kg with me in them

cheers Richie

930kg here with the '65 street car, with driver. The car has been on a 100kg diet, but due to the heavy transmission, turbo engine, liquid-intercooler, roll-cage ets, it weights 100kg more than a standard '65. Mid-9s with appr. 435whp.
The new racecar oops, street car will propably weight at least the same as Richie's. It has a very heavy transmission, turbo engine and liquid-IC (gallons of water  Embarrassed), twin batteries, ballast weights, 100% steel body...

No pegging down but it sure is easier pushing it around the workshop, loading on and off the trailer, moving around the pits, plus less weight to tow to the track so it all helps!  Still nice and steady at 125mph although I'm not sure if it would like going too much faster as is.........

stopping smoking may have helped you break the 'nines' Bernie. One hand on the wheel and the other smoking a fag doesn't make for good pb's  Grin
