Title: LA to Vegas
Post by: Rocket Ron on June 04, 2015, 21:03:28 pm
We've booked to go to the classic but we have a few days after before we head home and were thinking of heading to Vegas

Is there a " best route " that would take in some sites on the way and is there anything round Vegas worth seeing

Thanks in advance

there is a little thing called the grand canyon ;)

worth a trip in a helicopter.  You get to land at the bottom!

How many days you got Ron?  you can go the long way round, up to Yosemite, down to death valley and across to vegas the back way in, quite a journey but well worth it as the normal route is mainly just freeway

Red Rock Canyon just outside Vegas is definitely worth the detour...

Shelby museum is north Vegas, near the racetrack.
Yosemite is beautiful, but if it's on a weekend I'd avoid it.

Yeah Red Rock is worth the drive. My wife and I make it a point of picking a trail to hike there every time we go the Vegas

The Shelby Museum has moved to the south side of town. Certainly worth your time. To totally agree with Keith, Red Rock Canyon is amazing. It's a little hot here in LV today-100*, and possible thunderstorms for later in the week, so weather plays into what you might wish to go do.
