I'm looking for a 3-fold ragtop clip and I was wondering what is a realistic price to pay - if I ever find one?

Any ideas? is 2k eur enough? I've been trying to search pretty much all over teh interwebs for a clip but to no avail so far.

Hi,

I must be blind and/or search incapable as I didn't find those clips @ thesamba? I've been searching that site among others of course.

Edit: ok I am certified search incapable: found one 3-fold parts stash for 2k US and one clip for 3.5k US with some parts missing. Dang these things are pricey...

Only because I don't know these answers will I ask.  1)  Will a 3 fold from Grumpy's fit in a 1958-64 non ragtop?  2) If so is this something that can be installed by a qualified person without disturbing the paint already on the car?  3) Is there any extra bracing or re-enforcement in factory ragtops of that era that are not in sedans?

Thanks in advance for your input.

Yes it will fit, but will be incorrect as 58-64 are 2 fold. You will need to repaint roof, and there are 3 reinforcements on a rag, 1 between latch and rear veiw mirror and 1 in each front corner for headliner attachment

I think 2-fold started earlier still, for '56 model year. There is the square corner up to '52, the round/square combo for zwitters and the four round corners for early ovals. I wondered about lengthening a 2-fold using the Grumpys parts to make it a 3-fold, but sold my split instead...

i agree, a lot of parts are stupid pricey, but it only takes one guy to pay that price and everyone else sees it and marks their prices up. Sure it's less metal... But you get bigger hole!!!!

When I posed the question I had thoughts of installing a ragtop in my '60 sedan.  I found the site that offered the three fold unit and that is what prompted the question.  After further research it is far more of a project than I want to undertake.  So I guess I should be happy with what I have and think of all of the skin cancer I won't get because of a roof over my head...   Grin Grin

Just noticed this old thread. I saw a couple 3 folds on the samba, both for $3500 usd, and I heard about some selling for around €2000-2300.
Ar those just the asked prices or do they also sell around those sums?
