Well seeing as the rest of the world seems to be on FFB and no ones mentioned it on here yet I thought I'd start it off.....

10.97@119mph with no driver aids...strong head/cross wind...less than perfect launch and not using all the rpm available due to a dodgy laptop not playing ball (how I laughed!)  Cheesy

First weekend of testing so much more to come I'm sure.....well done mate!!!

Top weekend at Santa Pod...thanks to all who organised the CaLLookDragDay2015.

We had a blast......

Very honoured to see this happen at the weekend, defiantly up there in my personal memory bank with seeing with the insane yellow 1641 turbo bug at scc a few years ago

I'm sure there's  is a lot more to come, sounds like a full on sports bike.  Shocked

Ian, thank you for taking the responsibility and for updating us petrol heads here on The Lounge.

To Pete and his team; A big, viking thumb up for you guys. Now I really look forward to the race report in your project thread. Laptop not playing ball? Tell me about it! My Innovative lambda meter decided it was a narrow band during this winter. My laptop did not like that at all and told my ECU that my engine was running pig fat. Luckily it did not kill my engine.

Awesome Pete, no other words. And Ian what were the RPM's limited too as I thought it didn't sound as high as I had heard on JPM dyno vid.....?

Found this vid of 10 sec run on FB not sure if the link is good here.....maybe cut n paste into your browsers ?

That wasn't the ten second pass, Lee maynard has that run filmed, Ian you'll have to ask him to upload it to YouTube. For the non FFB'rs.

The mouse that roared Grin

It looks like Pete's goal of running a 10 with a 1776 motor will have to be changed to a mid 10!

What an incredible achievement and it couldn't have happened to a nicer guy. He has been hugely generous with his time and advice, helping me get my own mouse motored car built and never afraid to reveal a secret or two Wink

Dear All,

Thanks for all your positive comments, there looks to be a lot of love out there for the mouse motor!

So here is the golden ticket....

[ Attachment: You are not allowed to view attachments ]

All of a sudden the car seams to have come a long way, over 3 10ths is obviously quite a leap.

This improvement is not all engine, but a bit of engine and gear box combined. As I said when the car was first out with the 6 speed box the ratios were not right for the engine and were just a compromise to get the car out and check the box and suspension was going to be reliable. The cars speed back then was never going to be an accurate measure of what the gearbox might do for the car (it went at best over a 10th slower).

This was not going to be a fast weekend in my mind before I went. I planned on setting up a load of stuff in the ECU this weekend. My laptop scuppered that plan so I just decided to run it up and down to see how it went. Needless to say it went very well! This was despite the car not getting off the line properly, no air fuel adjustments, no idea about what rpm I was shifting at, not to mention a headwind, so there does look to be good reason to be optimistic.

The really good news is that it has been reliable to date. The oil smoke from the car over the weekend was from the dip stick and pushrod tubes, the dip stick issue was fixed at the track and plan B in coming together to try and resolve the pushrod tube leak for the cars next outing.

Thanks to all the DD crew who organised a great weekend!

I hope to update the build thread for the car next week if I can get a internet connection on holiday.

Very nice Pete! That 1/8 mph indicates at least another 5mph at the end once sorted!
