Maybe you´re thinking about the remmele heads?   http://www.remmele-motorsport.com/en/index_aircooled_en.html

"Cylinder heads for big bore engines, starting with 2.4 L"    ;D

Udo can you convince the guys in sweden ( JPM ) to make some type4 heads that flow well and have the exhaust port in the stock position.

I have done a lot of type4 heads that flow good enough for up to 250 hp on the street . The stock exaust port is better than it looks like....
You have a good cooling for street use with original heads . For 300 + hp you can look for aftermarket heads . Or if you want a head that does not need any welding you can watch out for those heads . We have Remmele and engine plus in Germany http://www.engineplus.de/pages/en/zylinder_koepfe.html

JPM also offers Type4 head work

I totally agree: my 2,7 ltr made 225 hp at just 6000 rpm and had unwelded stock casting type 4 heads!

Some welding on the intake and more port work you will have some more hp  :D

But maybe then I would not have had the flat torque curve and 270Nm that the high airspeed of the smaller port yielded...  ::)
