I have been running AA piston/cyl kits in several motors for years now.
My first set went 4yrs in my 2276cc race motor. Seeing 8,000rpm regularly. That motor is still alive.

I have another set in my current race motor. I have also used them on several customers motors with no issues to date.

 like them alot. They usually are much closer in weight out of the box. Not much balancing required.
The only thing I recommend is (for the forged kit) checking the piston to cyl clearance.
For the forged pistons, you'll need at least .006" clearance. I have found some sets at around .004". Not good for HiPo application.
Easy fix with a cyl hone.

I was just thinkin about an upgrade from current 1914cc to 2276cc using theese.
Actually I'll probably kill that 1914cc first, to have the obvious reason for the rebuild Smiley My current power plant is not the piece-of-art in terms of engine assembly quality, so I just hope it to last a season o two without too much abuse.
Then I'll see what was left of it able to reuse.

I've got quite a few runs on a set of those too. Close to 200 runs I'd say.

The set I had were quite a bit tighter, cylinder wall to skirt than Tom's experience. Mine were about .0015". I had the barrels honed to 3.705", which created a problem with the rings. The end gaps were way too big.  After a couple trial and error sessions trying to get a good ring seal, I ended up with a total seal gapless top ring, along with drilling eight .040" gas ports in through the top of the piston to intersect the back of the groove. The thing sealed up tight in two runs and has made more power that anything else I've tried before or since.  I keep trying to retire them, but so far, the two sets of high end pistons I've tried during the past two years have had difficulty getting a good seal and simply don't run the same ETs. I'm in the process of trying to retire them for the third time.

There was an issue with these a couple years back. Some guys had the pins pull out of the bottom on boosted, or NO2 injected motors. I was not present during the build, so it is not for me to judge what went wrong.

Bottom line is check them thoroughly and make sure they have adequate clearance for the job they are intended for.

On second look, I think you're right. Those don't look like the forged AAs. I'd say proceed with caution
