They're never done till they're sold

now that i've pulled out my engine, i've got an engine bay to restructure as well.
and i might want to do something with my firewall as it has not been painted along with the rest of the car  Cry

also, i wanna go a "bit" 70-ies on my 67 from now on. so does anyone have any ideas or pictures of what i could do with it?

and secondly, i like frenchy's structuring of the wires that run to the back:

lastly, i'd wanna put my coil and a future breather box on the firewall as well i think.

p.s. i like this firewall, but i've been told it's "not done"  Wink

Thats easy. Most places sell a universal "Baja" aluminum firewall. Its just a rectangle piece with a bead rolled edge. It fits perfectly against the firewall and costs around $25.00 (Last time I looked).

Frenchy's ghia is probably my favorite ghia still. Big wig racecars has started making some nice aluminum firewall panels too.

Back in the early 70's, most of us that were around got our ideas at the drags.  We went to the drags a lot...cheap entertainment and several tracks to choose from gave us lots of ideas.  I rememmber being "influenced" on an alluminum firewall back then, so went to a metal sales place in Anaheim and bought a sheet of material and a pop-rivit gun and went to work using the old tar board pieces as templates.  The thing that sticks in my mind most about the project happened about six moths after the installation.  One night I was cruising around...the lights started flickering, the smell of smoke, the SIGHT of smoke in the rear  view mirror....stopped, opened the smoke filled engine compartment...the hot wire to the voltage regulator had rubbed a hole in the insullation (who needs grommets) where it passed through the aluminum firewall and was glowing bright orange!

Crago's one had fuch's later on... so it's certainly his car in the middle.

I would go for the engine turned alu.  Really like it!
