Title: CHT sensor to all 4 cylinders + gauge setup
Post by: -Alex- on September 13, 2013, 21:53:15 pm
As somebody you know, i will be using tall fin T. Pieper billet heads - he  also recommended his porsche shroud for 260mm fan.

Does anybody have good place to start shopping / putting together a CHT sensor equipment, since i  would like to test heat on all cylinders.

I found from aircraft webshop some nice equipment, like sensors for under sparkplug and gauges:

I would like to have a one gauge for all four cylinders. Dakota digital? Autometer?  Aeroplane shop?

Ouch, here :lmao::lmao:

This is oldschool, but works also, and if you like to watch analog gauges  :lol:

Can you use your ECU's EGT inputs? Doing so allows you actually do something with the data like add fuel or advance, turn off the engine if it gets too hot, etc. As you have megasquirt you can even use Android phone or tablet as a dash display.

I think it's possible with MS3, i have at the moment MS1 V2.2, but i have been thinking to use as dash display mini lap top or tablet.

MGL uses automotive sensors, as mentioned on their website. I've been eyeballing them too a while back. Seems to be the way to go.

They also sell one with EGT's if you fancy that.

I recall them having a dealer in Germany though you might need to call around a bit :)
