Good question, Drů... I can't tell what that is. But I appreciate the 6v coil. Ran those Bosch Blue ones on both of my '66 Bugs. There was a certain twisted feeling, telling people they had been out driven by a teen ager in a 6v VW. HAHA!!

Thanks to Glenn, who send me some spare parts for my 019, I'm going to install a Screamer kit on my '64 [of course strictly 6volts]  ...

... and as soon I'll finish body and interior I'll try to build a nervous 1776 also for this reason ... see the face, at the next traffic light, of plastic car drivers  Grin

WOW! Glenn, that 6V engine picture is filled with wall-to-wall winning content, throughout. Factory fuel pump, correct oil filler-breather, etc. I think I just felt a tear roll down my cheek. So much goodness... it needs to be computer wallpaper.

Nico, once again, nice pic! You're consistently consistent when it comes to posting quality images on The Lounge.

The owner is a true "old school" Cal Look guy, here's the car. No repro parts... checkout the purple DDS manifolds and very early Berg linkage.

where're those DDS wheels that were on the car Huh and about the linkage , it's strange it look like a speedwell one with berg arms Huh
i said  that because the early berg don't have the parts on each side of the Of the pendulum(don't know the name for that) (the parts where the cable come) , and don't have those blocks of aluminium ( see the red arrows)

here're 2 linkage i've , a early berg and a speedwell  , watch the difference

Lee,
You are using the same crankshaft I am, it has the narrow rods.
They were made to work with Empi 88mm Slipper Skirt pistons.
If you plan on using another type, you will have to have spacers made for each side of the wristpin to limit movement.

Its actually my friend Rob crank BUT mine is exactly the same - We have changed our rods to the Later style SPG as these are slightly stronger and seem to take more "abuse" according to our SPG Gru Gary  Wink

I'm using 92's on mine so I may need spacers  Undecided

The main idea of the polishing is not just to make it look pretty  Wink Gary has found through a LOT of R&D that the rods where failing on the casting marks/flashing and once polishing and removing these marks the rods seem to hold up ALOT better  Grin

Here's a pic of ONE of the R&D cranks  Shocked (note the non polished rod)
