I think mines only been on the road a handful of times since 1962! All the brake parts were detailed in pink, clutch in blue and suspension in green, with a cutaway in the side of the pan to get to the cables more easily! It was put under the Swiss Cal Kubel, I believe it was driven for one season only, then sold to the UK and returned back to stock. It's going under my '51 eventually... Wink

I think you should make the 51 your next project, why not start it during your 6 weeks off?   Wink Tongue

Oh mate, it's going to take more than six weeks to do that! I'm aiming to have all the parts I need by the time I'm 40 - I'm 32 now... Grin

This VW dealer in Sao Paulo seems to be still in place : http://www.sabrico.com.br/

Translation from Google :

It all began on June 5, 1941, when a group of businessmen decided to establish the Bolivian Sabrico, having its headquarters at Rua Visconde de Rio Branco, 189.

It was a diversified company, which also sell Volkswagen cars and trucks, also sold other products such as appliances, vehicles, Dodge and Chrysler.

A vehicle changed the trajectory of Sabrico. In the late 40s came to Brazil a lot of VW Beetle that was displayed in Sabrico, a novelty, a very sturdy vehicle for the season. This batch of 10 units sold quickly, and the first "Beetle" was sold by Sabrico on November 17, 1950.

With such a successful vehicle Sabrico Brazilian engineers sent to Wolfsburg in Germany because he had an interest in riding it here at home.

But the project ended up being transferred to own Volkswagen who settled in Brazil in 1952. But Sabrico bet on the mark and became the first authorized reseller in Brazil. That's how Sabrico became "The First in Volkswagen."

Currently, Sabrico is based on Marginal Tiete, 4233, in an area of 15,000 mē, which has a showroom in New Cars, Used Cars Autos of another, and a Post-Sales computerized and fully equipped with trained personnel constantly by Volkswagen.

Interesting how some of the 15 window Deluxe Busses lack the beltline trim, yet the Kombi on the lift has the trim. Crazy Brazillians Roll Eyes

Yes, they have some nice unusual models, my favorite is the bay window bus with the deluxe split window rear part. Grin
