Yes it is. I have a lot of pics of the build. Tho many of us did not take to many pictures back then. My wife suggested to take shots during its construction.

That's funny Rick,  I remember when they did the photo shoot Jimmy saying that he borrowed a set of wheels but I did'nt know it was you!  I have not spoken to Jimmy since the late eighties, I keep hopeing he'll pop up here.
Even though the "cookie cutters" looked cool on his car, I still really liked the chromies with the porsche tities.

Funnycarmike, I hear that Jimmy still lives in So Cal. Do you still talk with him? Would love to catch up. Tell him that Mark/Fred with the orange car says hi, please.

Just a two-page feature with little details. Typical of VW & Porsche at this time...

Hi All,

Newbie on this forum, I read this from the very first page, awesome pics ! Thanks...

In return, find those taken back in the 80's in france.
The drag was a project done between friends and supposed to be at "Le Mans Drag Races 83" but not completed in time... and too late to register, even if we arrive there the first day.

Powered by a 2,3 the bug was really fun !

Here, my daily driver in 82, 83...

Followed by this Variant, loved that car... my daughter is now 30 Jeeeez...

Other pics to follow later...
After 25 years without a flat four, I'm working on a 1200 76' Vdub, that'll be pure cal look of the 80's, I'll open a specific thread to show you that one...

Cheers

V.
