Long story short, I'm going in 2 weeks and I'll be pitting for a four car Class 12 race team! I've never been before and I'm totally freakin out! Shocked Grin Cheesy Wink Smiley

I always wanted to do that. Have had a few opportunities but could never make it happen. Have fun.

God, I miss Baja. Used to make many surf/skateboard trips down there before it got stupid. Be careful and you'll have fun. My boss races just about every off-road race and usually places at the top of his division (Class 11, 10, 16, etc.) and even overall. Look for our race fuel logos on his cars F&L.

No salads or mixed drinks. Bottled water and you'll be alright. Been going down there since the late seventies and never got sick. Thankfully, I was trained by professional Baja travelers. Take pics!

Living in Arizona makes it easy to go to Mexico, I've been many times but it's been almost 7 years since my last trip. I never got sick either, and I ate/drank whatever I wanted, which was never water! Roll Eyes I have a tough immune system Wink I'll try to remember to snap some pics, but I usually don't!

For me the Baja 1000 is one of those must attend automotive events for every motor head. Like Bonneville, Indianapolis 500, 24 hours of Le Mans, Isle of Man TT, etc. I can't believe I'm going at all, especially with a race team!

You'll love it. Enjoy being in a surreal state of being during your stay. I was honored/grateful to be invited along to do the same thing during the recent Rennsport Reunion IV in Monterey, CA. All access pit pass, test driving the race car after/during tunings, rides out to the starting grid and hot pits, and was easily one of the THE best automotive events I've ever attended. All expenses paid made it even more attractive... 'cause I'm broke, most of the time.

Make the most of it and have FUN.

Luckily, I've got the same deal Grin Perfect since I haven't found permanent employment since my move. And we're being put up in a beach condo in San Felipe!

 Shocked

WIN!

That's beyond cool regarding the beach condo. Bummer 'bout the work situation... hopefully, you find something permanent soon.

Zach have a great time, have been down many time chasing for a class 1 team.  Good friend going down with a 1/2 1600 car - # 1647. Wish i was going myself. Keep you stuff locked and watch out at night when chasing, most crashes are chase guys. Lots of good people down there racing. Enjoy it all. Good tacos too.

Good job to all on your team. Tough race to finish this year. My buddy in his 1/2 1600 car finished, but was down some time for repairs. But 1st in class, good job.

Thanks guys. I wish I could take credit but I certainly can't! I was the rookie on board, all I did was refuel a couple times, and throw some spare wheels around. But then again, that's what most of us did since there wasn't any major problems. Except when we had to rescue one of the prerunners at 3 ayem... Fried clutch in the silt. Silt sucks!!

Can't wait to get dirty next year! Grin
